Mark 1:29-45

Jesus and the few disciples that have been selected are still in Capernaum. They go to the home of Peter and Andrew where Peter’s mother-in-law is sick. They informed Jesus of this situation. Then, in Mark 1:31, it says, “So he went to her, took her hand and helped her up. The fever left her and she began to wait on them” (NIV). In this section, we see Simon bring Jesus into his house. Something that we might do is have a Bible on our bookshelves or have a cross hanging in our home. That way we can claim that we have Jesus in our home.

Something that we might focus on is making sure to have items in our home that people can see and think we are “good people.” However, we are not working on our relationship with Jesus. We only use those items for show. We make people think that our lives are on track, but they are really in a place of destruction.

It can be easy to do things to make people believe that we are followers of Jesus Christ, but we need a Savior. We need someone to set us free from our sins. Jesus is not only meant to be with us in public where people can see us, but He is also meant to be in our homes and in our hearts.
