Special Delivery (Part 2)

When it comes to delivering packages, I would look at the address on the package to make sure I am delivering it to the right house. This is because this one package can only go to one person. However, there is a package that has been sent to everyone. In John 3:17 it says, “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him” (NIV, 1984). Jesus was sent to everyone. Salvation through Jesus Christ is not only for a selected group, but it is for the whole world. God wants everyone to believe in Him.

The only way to heaven is with Salvation through Jesus Christ. Some people do not believe that we need to accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior in order to get to heaven. However, we saw in the previous post (Special Delivery – Part 1) that not one can go to the Father except through Jesus. He did not come to save a selected group of people, but everyone! Jesus says in John 10:9, “I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. He will come on and go out, and find pasture” (NIV, 1984). Jesus also says in John 14:6, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (NIV, 1984).

There is no other way to God than through Salvation through Jesus. God’s Son was sent to us to deliver us from sin. God wants us to accept this special delivery and repent from our sins. The word repent simply means, “to turn around.” God wants us to turn from our sinful lives and live the way He calls us to. Repent is more than saying “sorry”: it is a change of lifestyle. It is a realization that we need to change the way we think, say, and do (Rainer, 2022). We need to change our lifestyle to pleases ourselves and start living a life that is pleasing to God.
