Genesis 9

               When Noah and his family came out of the ark, God give a special sign in the sky. God sent his rainbow and that his was to be a sign between Noah and God. The rainbow is to be the sign that God will never send another global flood to destroy the earth. This section of Scripture is known as the Noahic Covenant.

               God also gave the command to Noah and his family to be fruitful and multiply. This is the same command the God gave to Adam and Eve back in the Garden of Eden. This a second time that the world is going to be filled with humans. God blessed Noah and his family to do this. They had great faith in the God to build the ark. They are called to continue to have faith in Him as they go throughout their lives.

               Years after Noah and his family came out of the ark, Noah had some wine and became drunk. People have said that Noah’s sin was drinking, but it was not having wine it was getting drunk. Even Noah, a faithful man, sinned against God. People today believe that we must be perfect to follow Christ. But it is not about being perfect in order to follow Christ. It is that Christ makes us perfect when we decide to follow Him.
