What is the Trinity?

This Holy Trinity has been a difficult subject to talk about in Christianity. Not because people do not want to talk about, but it is difficult to explain. When talking about the Holy Trinity, people can get confused when explaining how three people are one. The three people are not three separate parts, but are three persons. These three Persons are the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These are three separate Persons in one.

We see that the Father is the Protector and Provider. He provided manna for the Israelites wondering in the wilderness for 40 years. The Father was there are the beginning of the world. He created the world. We also see the Son in the Holy Trinity. We see that the Word became flesh (John 1:14). How the Son is not a phantom or a ghost but flesh. A real person who walked on the earth. And finally, we see the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is our Guide in life. He lives within us. All three of these Persons is God! We see that there is a verse that talks about all three of these Persons. In Matthew 28:19, we see that Jesus is telling His disciples to baptize people in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Like I mentioned before, it is a difficult concept to wrap your head around. And that is okay, because we are not able to fully understand God. In Isaiah 55:8-9, we understand that God’s thoughts are higher than our thoughts. If we are able to understand God completely, then we would be higher than God. And we will never have more knowledge than God, and that is okay. It is a reminder that God is higher than us and I would rather worship a God who is higher than me.
